[SMM Analysis: Xigao Institute Announces It Will Have Specific Solid-State Battery Detection Capabilities After Completion of Ongoing Projects] On July 8, 2024, Xigao Institute announced on the investor interaction platform that upon completion of relevant ongoing projects, the company would possess detection capabilities for electrochemical energy storage system (ESS) batteries and power batteries for new energy vehicles (NEVs) (including solid-state batteries). This signifies that Xigao Institute's technical service system in the new energy field will become more comprehensive, enabling it to provide more thorough technical support and service guarantees for the industry.
SMM News on July 10:

On July 8, 2024, CEPRI announced on the investor interaction platform that upon the completion of relevant ongoing projects, the company would possess the detection capability for electrochemical energy storage batteries and power batteries for NEVs (including solid-state batteries). This marks a more comprehensive technical service system for CEPRI in the new energy field, enabling it to provide more comprehensive technical support and service guarantees for the industry.

Currently, CEPRI has achieved remarkable accomplishments in the new energy field. The company has successfully built a 7.5MW large-capacity PV+ESS converter electrical performance testing platform, a battery sampling inspection testing platform for ESS power stations, and an RT-LAB simulation testing platform, and has obtained CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment) and CMA (China Metrology Accreditation) qualifications. The acquisition of these qualifications indicates that CEPRI's detection capabilities are at a leading level domestically, capable of providing authoritative and reliable detection services for new energy equipment.

Appendix: Battery Detection Institutions

I. National and Authoritative Detection Institutions: CEPRI, Hunan Desai Battery Testing Center, GRG Metrology & Testing

CEPRI: Recently announced the addition of solid-state battery detection capabilities, has built a 7.5MW large-capacity PV+ESS testing platform, and obtained CNAS/CMA qualifications, with detection technology at a leading level domestically.

Hunan Desai Battery Testing Center: Accredited by CNAS, with the capability to detect lithium battery performance and safety reliability, and reports recognized by over 100 countries globally.

GRG Metrology & Testing: Deepened cooperation with Chery in power battery testing technology, providing full life cycle testing services (including environmental stress, safety, etc.), and has established new energy laboratories in multiple locations.

II. Third-Party Professional Detection Institutions

Beijing CAS Institute of Light Industry and Chemical Technology: Possesses CMA/CNAS qualifications, covering battery cell detection, with laboratory systems strictly adhering to international standards.

Banghe Testing (MCM): Specializes in global battery certification and testing, holds CNAS, CMA, and other qualifications, with services covering power batteries, ESS batteries, and other fields.

Huancewei Testing: Provides battery UN38.3 certification services, with a CNAS-certified laboratory, focusing on battery safety performance testing.

III. International Institutions' Services in China

International detection institutions such as TUV SUD, UL, and SGS also provide testing services for solid-state battery performance, safety, and environmental durability in China, with standards aligned with international practices.

IV. Enterprise-Built Detection Platforms

Some solid-state battery enterprises, such as Ganfeng Lithium, Qingtao Energy, etc. (Refer to the list of enterprises 8) also possess internal testing capabilities, but primarily serve their own product R&D.

In January, national passenger car producers' new energy wholesale estimates reached 900,000 units, up 1% YoY.
According to the latest data from the Passenger Car Association, in December 2025, producers with new energy wholesale sales exceeding 10,000 units accounted for 93% of the total wholesale sales of passenger NEVs that month. Based on preliminary January data, these producers achieved sales of 830,000 units in January. As most producers have already locked in their major sales figures, by applying the structural proportion from the previous month to the current month's data, the estimated wholesale sales of passenger NEVs nationwide in January were 900,000 units. According to comprehensive preliminary monthly association data: the estimated wholesale sales of NEVs by national passenger car producers in January 2026 were 900,000 units, up 1% YoY.
